Thank you Elaine for your research. I put in a call to the planning and zoning department as it is my feeling the City will need to sign off on any design changes to the convert area (next to 410) that allows water drainage into Pea Vine Creek. Hopefully, I'll hear back from that office tomorrow.

Hi all,

   In the process of exploring some work on 344 Drexel, I ran across the guidelines for fences in Decatur.   

The HOA will need to obtain a permit to put a fence on the property.  The decision to allow is based on how well it fits in with the rest of the neighborhood. 

“Fencing should not be added to the front of a house if it is not prevalent in the neighborhood, as it will adversely affect the streetscape.”  The links below are to City of Decatur guidelines.
