That second set of bylaws was not in the documentation that I received, nor was Joanna or I aware of a second set. I believe that we only have the original bylaws that have no restrictions on rentals. Based on that, I recently told a prospective buyer that there were no restrictions on renting out the house.
My calendar shows 4pm as the meeting time, but if enough want to move it to 4:30, we can do that.

Did you research include two sets of HOA bylaws? To provide a little history, Tom Mozen, the architect and builder, had the first set of bylaws drawn up through his original banking company. This set was give to the first buyers of units #338, 408 and possibly 406. I purchased my home in 1986. Due to financial woes, Tom had to refinance with a different bank/law firm; thus, a second set of bylaws with different wordings was drawn up and provided to future buyers.
The HOA only learned of the two sets of bylaw at one of the meetings in either 1993 or 1994. During that meeting one homeowner expressed concern that I was in violation of the bylaws by renting out my downstairs. I responded that I had researched the bylaws and did not find any opposition to my renting out a portion of my home. The homeowner produced her set of bylaws, and I immediately saw that it was drawn up by a different law firm than what was reflected in my bylaws. At the request of the HOA president, I provided at that meeting a copy of my bylaws. A comparison was made of the two sets of bylaws, and it was concluded that I was not in violation. The homeowner who had brought up the discussion withdrew her complaint by stating that she might choose to rent out her downstairs. The HOA was to make a copy of my set of bylaws to be included with the HOA minutes and documents.
Excuse the lengthy email, but I felt it might speed up our Sunday HOA meeting by having this information. See everyone on Sunday at 4:30 p.m..
