[Everyone] Rodent problem -- Phase II

Hello again:

I interviewed 3 companies to solve my rodent problem: (1) Skyline
(recommended by neighborhood list serve, large company serving throughout
Georgia and parts of FLA ); (2) Breda Pest Control (large local company
serving only N. Georgia); and (3) Brady Pest Control (small local company
recommended to me by a personal friend who is also a contractor).

Let me know if any of you want details on any of the above companies. I
hired the small local company -- Brady Pest Control -- recommended by
friend who is a contractor. I was most impressed with the fact that the
person who inspected my home throughout (and took 45 minutes to do this) --
Wayne Roden -- is the owner of the company and today actually did the first
treatment for rodent control. I've contracted with them to do: rodent
control; termite warranty and treatment, if necessary (I previously
contracted with Terminix, I have never had a problem); and insect treatment
(I've had quarterly treatment done by Home Team Pest Defense -- Brady will
be doing quarterly treatment). Wayne Roden's phone number is 770/466-5013
or 404/906-5677.

It turns out that one can spend a great deal of $ on rodent control. All
the companies guarantee their work for a year (and will renew guarantee
annually for a fee). I was tempted to do the most expensive treatment (a
"wrapping" of my entire home with some sort of steel wrapping), but all 3
companies told me I did not have a serious problem. So I decided to take
the less extreme (and less expensive route) to see if problem could be
solved. The less extreme solution involves 3 steps: (1) seal up all the
possible entry ways from the outside that are visible in an inspection; (2)
set traps inside the house for a week or so -- to make sure none of these
critters get caught inside the walls; and (3) after about a week or so,
seal up all possible entry ways inside the house. I also decided to
consolidate the 3 services with one company, as it is much more economical
to do so.

Again, let me know if any of you want phone numbers, details re the other 2
companies. Regards, Lauren (340)
