[Everyone] Retaining Walls

Good afternoon everyone.  I’d like to give you all an update on the retaining walls.  Since Ron’s report about the condition of them, I have been discussing the issue with Ron, Lauren, Jordan and Maryann.  I asked Mark, since he was one of the first owners, to join the conversation to try and determine if the retaining walls were the responsibility of the association or the homeowners.

Since Ron had the expertise to discuss the issues thoroughly with professionals, I asked him to reach out to a few companies to get quotes on needed repairs.  He has met with a rep for Georgia Outdoor Services who confirmed that the long wall along the creek has started to fail behind 402 and the rest of the wall is nearing the end of it’s expected lifetime.  He is still waiting for them to provide a written description of the current state of the wall, as well as a quote.  There is a second company coming out tomorrow to examine and give a quote as well.

While this is happening, I have gotten unofficial copies of the plats that are on record with Dekalb County, in hopes that it could shed some light on who is responsible for the retaining walls.
