[Everyone] FYI: AT&T

We really need to have the work done by AT&T to put fiber in. They told us when we moved in 7+ years ago that they would need to dig here to do it. If we can get them to pay for the landscaping replacement it would be good.

Hi Sara and all,

I don't mean to take over the thread but just curious, do you all have fiber from AT&T? When I moved here 5 years ago they said I can't get AT&T internet (much less fiber) until they do some additional wiring which might take days to complete. Five years later I believe it's still the case so I I am still stuck wiht Comcast. Just curious if this will change the availability for me as well?

An AT&T employee came out today to see about connecting my services with their company as I'm switching over from Comcast. He just informed me that the AT&T box next to our mailbox is not even connected to the large AT&T box across the street. He said an engineer will need to come out and access the problem, and it may require re-digging a trench all the way down to the sidewalk. If this happens, some of the shrubbery will be affected. (AT&T reimbursed the HOA for shrubbery lost a few years ago while they were installing the optic fiber cable.) This may explain why the outages for those of you who have their Internet service. After the installation of fiber optic cable in early 2000, and as a customer of AT&T at that time, I never lost internet nor landline phone services.
