Sara,    Sorry you caught me at the only time I was out today.  Thanks for taking care of this.  I can now contact Accurate about cost for extending the fence. Without advance notice, Hugh Saxon called me about an hour ago ago and said he was out front to discuss the fencing and the convert area. (Mark and Jordan, I rang both of your doorbells with no response as I really wanted you present.)

Hugh could not have been more cooperative. He said there was no problem with an aluminum fence connecting with the existing fence, bringing it all the way down along the triangle bed. He said the fence cannot be higher than 4'. He looked at the drop off at the creek bed and responded that it could be hazardous, and he could understand CAU's concern.

Additionally, I talked with him about a gate connecting at 410 to be attached at the end of the triangle bed. Again, he said there would no issue with the City of Decatur for us to install a gate so long as water could flow under it. I showed him my gate to reassure him that water would easily pass through and under the gate.

I asked if we had to submit a drawing to the Planning Department; and to my surprise, he said, "no." He said the only requirement is to obtain a permit. I responded that this is something the fencing company could undertake, and he totally agreed.

We talked about the convert area. He said the only way it might work is to build up a wooden sidewalk structure to allow water to run under it. To me, this type of structure would be an eyesore. Mark, will you check with CAU to see if they would be satisfied with us installing a gate to prevent the general public from trespassing in lieu of us not making changes to the convert?

Lastly, he asked about the handrails and if they would go down the peagravel walkway next to the creekbed. And I told him that was a require-ment of CAU. He had no issue with it.

I'm grateful for Hugh's visit as it resolved a number of our concerns.
