<div dir="ltr">I switched to Comcast 2 years ago because AT&T told me my wiring underground was rotten and that they'd have to dig up underneath the front of my house to repair or replace. Apparently, a cable disconnection has occurred somewhere between the box at our mailbox and the large AT&T fiber optic cable box across the street. If the engineer cannot determine where the problem is, it might require them to once again dig a trench from our mailbox down to the sidewalk. The cable was installed under the street to the large box across the street. I hope this explains the issue. </span>

When I moved here 5 years ago they said I can't get AT&T internet (much less fiber) until they do some additional wiring which might take days to complete. Five years later I believe it's still the case so I I am still stuck wiht Comcast. Just curious if this will change the availability for me as well? </span></p>

He just informed me that the AT&T box next to our mailbox is not even connected to the large AT&T box across the street. He said an engineer will need to come out and access the problem, and it may require re-digging a trench all the way down to the sidewalk. If this happens, some of the shrubbery will be affected. (AT&T reimbursed the HOA for shrubbery lost a few years ago while they were installing the optic fiber cable.) This may explain why the outages for those of you who have their Internet service. After the installation of fiber optic cable in early 2000, and as a customer of AT&T at that time, I never lost internet nor landline phone services. </span></p>
