<div dir="ltr"><div dir="ltr">Greetings to all.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div dir="ltr">Carmen, thanks very much for letting us know about what happened a few nights ago.</div><div dir="ltr"><br></div><div>What you describe is a situation that seems a bit unsettling and odd.</div><div><br></div><div>It is good you contacted police and made report. But I do not think we or any neighborhood or section should leave matters there. I think the situation is a challenge to </div><div>us as neighbors to be more intentional </div><div>about looking out for one another. We may not all be best friends, but we can make real </div><div>efforts to be good neighbors. Rosamond and I are fairly new here, so maybe the ideas I suggest below have been considered and practiced before. </div><div>At any rate, allow me now to suggest the following for (re)consideration: </div><div><br></div><div>notify at least one neighbor if one of us is going to be away for an extended period of time (and ask for and arrange appropriate support when or where necessary);</div><div> </div><div>take notice of (and report or raise questions of and about) unusual traffic of persons and autos/trucks (on the property or parked on the street);</div><div><br></div><div>avoid leaving trash receptacles outside (not only in terms of the aesthetics of the thing, but for reasons of security).</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>These are simply suggestions for intentional practices that may prove to be helpful to all.</div><div><br></div><div>We should all continue to think of ways to keep what are beautiful living spaces which we all enjoy safe and peaceful.</div><div><br></div><div>All the best of the season to all of you.</div><div><br></div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature" data-smartmail="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div><div dir="ltr"><div>Vincent L. Breaking into is strong words because it was unlocked and they only took the $4 cash I had in the glove box. However, the fact they came all the way up the drive is what concerns me most. I have installed an outdoor camera by my front door. I also filed a police report in hopes of more night patrol. The officer said we should feel free to call anytime if we hear anything or want them to do a drive-by to check things out. </div><div><br></div><div>Hope you have a Happy Holiday Season!</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div><br></div><div>Carmen (344 Drexel)</div></div></div>
